Consultation
Consultation and engagement will take place throughout the Planning, Preliminary Design and Class EA Study. The Consultation Plan will include:
- Notice of Study Commencement
- Preparation of a Study Design Report (SDR) and Notice of SDR public review
- Communications with agencies and stakeholders
- Engagement with Indigenous communities
- Communication with property owners, residents, and businesses in the study area
- Two Public Information Centres (PIC)
- Preparation of a Transportation Environmental Study Report (TESR) and Notice of TESR public review
Two Public Information Centres are planned for this project. The first PIC took place from December 15, 2021 to February 4, 2021 and the purpose of the PIC was to introduce the project to the public, provide information on existing conditions and the study process, present the SDR, and present the corridor alternatives and evaluation criteria. Due to COVID-19 and associated physical distancing requirements, the format of the first PIC was an online presentation. An SDR was developed and filed for a 30-day public comment period during the same time as PIC 1.
The purpose of PIC 2 will be to display and seek input on the Preferred Plan, the results of the evaluation of alternatives, and proposed protection and mitigation measures.
A TESR will be filed for a 30-day period of public review at the end of the Preliminary Design study.
All notices will be published in English and French in The Cochrane Times – Post.
The notices will also be posted on this website and sent directly to everyone on the project mailing list. The feedback we receive throughout the consultation and engagement process will be incorporated into the project findings and recommendations as appropriate.
If you wish to be added to our mailing list, please Contact the Project Team.
